Email Campaigns
Project Description: Cindy Schlager was an incredibly fantastic and fun client to work with in creating this quarterly email campaign that spanned the better part of 8 years. I guess that means we made about 32 or so of these—below I’ve featured a few of my favorites.
When I first met Cindy, she told me that she used to be in theater and it was her outgoing personality that was going to make her succeed in this new role as Relocation Director for WK… She was absolutely right. I love humor and bigger than life concepts, but I also felt a certain responsibilty to keep it as professional as possible. Cindy was always the one who wanted to take it one step further which I really loved—she let me play the way all designers wish they could.
Each year at the start of the campaign, we’d meet and decide theme we were going with that year and discuss some of the possibilities. Then I’d go back to my studio and gather some stock imagery to feature and present some mock-ups to her. Once we’d agree on the direction for each of the four installments for the year, I’d have her over to my studio and I’d shoot her in different poses that agreed with the gesture and lighting of the chosed stock photos. Then, I’d take those head shots and photoshop them into the various scenes, create the final email files and she’d send them off to her mailing list of Real Estate agencies and wait for the flood of ecstatic responsed to come in.
“Absolutely the most creative, unique marketing piece I have ever received!”

Once a year, she’d attend The Leading Real Estate Companies of the World conference and meet all the people she’d been sending our creations to. She told me that people came up to her and introduced themselves because they just wanted to say hi—we’d created star-like status for her at those conferences and when those companies had referrals to send to the Boulder area, they definitely remembered her. It worked (!) and it was a blast (!). We even won a couple awards for these campaigns.
